BEIJING - national news agency Xinhua reported an explosion at illegal fireworks factory has killed at least nine people.
As reported by the Associated Press on Thursday (01/13/2011), the explosion which occurred in Fengxian district, the northwestern province of Shaanxi, was also leaving two people injured.
Xinhua preach the initial investigation of local police officers said the explosion occurred due to illegal production of fireworks.
Dozens of people in China die each year because of negligence when using fireworks in a traditional wedding or other celebration.
The number of factories that produce illegal fireworks also continues to increase every year, particularly around Chinese New Year celebration in February this
