There are several issues that need to be a priority for Indonesia over as Chair of ASEAN in the future. These issues, among others, institutional reforms which include the need to increase the role of the ASEAN Secretariat to disseminate these organizations.
In addition to increasing the role of the ASEAN Secretariat, ASEAN Political Security Community (APSC) also deserves a priority of ASEAN. Until now, many doubts arise on the achievement of APSC in 2020. This is where Indonesia should contribute more in the process of realization of APSC.
Important issues that should be prioritized in Indonesia is implentasi customs modernization, standardization and infrastructure. Included also kelancuran flow of goods in Southeast Asia, especially after the approval of the low import tariffs. In addition to the flow of goods, services and current infrastructure must be the concern of Indonesia.
No less important economic issue is the issue of human rights (human rights). Since human rights protection adopted in the ASEAN Charter, the ASEAN countries have an obligation to run these principles. One other major issue is the defense of ASEAN diplomacy.
