British Men Indicted For Snow Ball Throw
LONDON - Office of the British court convicted a man on charges of assault and imposed a curfew for two weeks for him because it had been throwing snowballs at a female police officer.
As reported by AFP on Thursday (13/01/2011), a man named Dean Smith was shopping with his family in the town of Swadlincote, England, when he was done throwing.
Smith (31) was found guilty by a court of Derby, England, for having carried out the attack. He was sentenced to a curfew for 14 days and must pay a fine of 85 pounds, or approximately Rp1, 2 million.
Previously, Smith had thought the arrival of the police to her home just a joke. The police came to his house just days after she did toss. "I do not understand. They took me to the police station. At first I thought it was all just a joke," said Smith.
Prosecutors claim Smith has acted aggressively with revenge motive. Smith had previously been convicted because they hinder police.
With the enactment of a curfew for Smith, meant he was obliged to stay at home at 7 pm to 7 morning for two weeks. Smith also must wear an electronic device that its presence can be traced
