11 People Killed in Drug Cartel Violence
At least 11 people were killed in the state of Chihuahua in Mexico in the bloodshed that is still associated with drug cartels, officials said the local state.
Chihuahua, which borders dengna state of Texas, United States, and includes the city of "criminals nest" Ciudad Juarez, has the highest rate of crime associated with illegal drug trade, according to official government calculations.
Six people were killed in Ciudad Juarez, across the border of El Paso, Texas, said Chihuahua state officials, the City with a population of 1.2 million people, recorded a murder rate 3.200 inhabitants in 2010, making it as one of the deadliest cities in the world. The death toll includes two men who were shot dead hinga while walking in downtown Ciudad Juarez, and another was killed by throwing Molotov cocktails into his car, officials said.
Other victims, all male sex, were killed in other parts of the Chihuahua region, officials said. The two most influential organizations, the Sinaloa cartel and the cartel of Ciudad Juarez, was fighting against the power struggle to the point of crossing into the United States with the help of a local gang.
