A soldier who served in Afghanistan miraculously survived after being shot five times by members of the Taliban.
Helmand - A soldier who served in Afghanistan miraculously survived after being shot five times by members of the Taliban.
Ben Ralph (20), was reportedly shot in the back, side, the pants and the bag ammunition.
But Ralph is the first battalion, Irish Guards, survived without any injury.
Soldiers from Birmingham, England was on duty in Gereshk, Helmand province, Afghanistan, at the time of the incident.
"Someone is watching me at the time," he said as quoted by The Sun.
He said that the gunfire came from three sides and is approximately six members of the Taliban. Menghujam first bullet from the back which makes it collapsed.
"The bullet is through bottles of water in the back of me. The water was flowing down to my feet. At that time I thought it was blood," he said as reported by the Telegraph, Tuesday (01/11/2011).
"If you do not wear a bulletproof clothes I might be dead. After that we were finally able to strike back. The Taliban did not win on that day," he concluded.
Approximately 348 British military personnel killed in operations launched since 2001 in Afghanistan.
