Bhutan became 100% smoke-free state


Thimphu, Bhutan - Bhutan Police can now raid the homes to search for contraband cigarettes and train the dog to smell the tobacco in an attempt to become the first smoke-free.Bhutan became 100% smoke-free state



Bhutan are many different Buddhist majority, who think smoking can create bad karma, has banned the circulation of tobacco in 2005, but with increasing tobacco smuggling from neighboring India, the ban failed to give real effect.

But this year council members have passed laws that allow police to enter premises, to stop people smoking. Residents and sellers of cigarettes that can not include a letter of proof cigarette imports threatened prison for five years.

Meanwhile, if smoking in a private room is not considered to be violated in this Himalayan kingdom, but because cigarette sales are prohibited, smokers are only allowed 200 cigarettes per month may be imported. Reuters reports the Wednesday (01/12/2011).
